Baby Boomer Rock-N-Roll Week Begins

They met in a Los Angeles coffee shot when he was 27 and she was just sweet 16. Well, maybe she wasn't so sweet.

When they first recorded this song, I was eight-years-old. This was my favorite song by them.

It's amazing to think that 40 years ago, you didn't see not one black teen dancing on any of these TV shows. Now, we're all over the place as dancing video hos!

One of my favorite songs of all time is "I Got You Babe", by Sonny and Cher. I was about 13 or 14 when it came out. I still love it and use it in my cycling classes for climbing hills.

One of my favorite memories of the Baby Boomer Girlfriend's Retreat was the Pajama Party. I was transported back to high school, but this time I got to dance with my beautiful, black, girlfriends. And, did they ever have the moves!

Wow, I would not have recognized her if she wasn't sitting next to Sonny!

Thanks for the memories, Beverly!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I love this song. And I have to admit it - I never missed an episode of the Sonny and Cher show.

I love this new blog - very retro pop culture - I've linked to this on my own Retro Pop Culture Blog, PopArtDiva!

I, like Melodieann, never missed an episode of The Sonny and Cher Show - my mom and I used to watch religiously every week just to see what she was wearing! Oh, and later on her own show -those Bob Mackie dresses, wow!

Boy, do they look YOUNG! Thanks for sharing a blast from the past. It's great getting to see the cool jerk--a dance even I could do!

Love this song, Bev, I even had a little bit about it on one of my blogs a little while back, either New Jersey Baby Boomer or Memories and Nostalgia sharing a vivid memory of listening to Sonny and Cher sing "I Got You Babe" at the beach with friends. Those were the days!
